I saw your name on this anthology of cat stories and remembered that I’d read another book you compiled “Second Chance Cats,” two years ago. Since this one is focused on cats and Christmas, I asked to review it.
As one would think, there are lots of stories of cats taking down Christmas trees, cats playing “slip-n-slide” across floors while riding sheets of wrapping paper, cats hopping in and taking over the many boxes that arrive at this time of year and cats eyeing other “forbidden” objects with which their “servants” (and I’m definitely a cat servant) have decorated the house. I haven’t put up a tree in eleven years partly due to kittenhood when I got my current cats and then discovering that two of mine love to chew plastic and I have artificial trees.
The stories are short, sweet, and usually upbeat though a few do mention how cats can sense our emotions and comfort us when we’re down. There are some Christmas gift cats (oh, please don’t do this as a surprise) and other stories about cats choosing their new servants. Mine enjoyed sitting on and near me while I enjoyed reading this batch. B
